Let's Do The Wolfman Again

.
A second trailer for The Wolfman has torn through its human flesh and unleashed the beast within all over this here internet today. I haven't watched this trailer yet so perhaps it will do the trick, and I can't really pin-point why it's the case so far, but I'm surprised how unenthusiastic I am about this movie at this point in time. It's not that anything's struck me as horrible about it - I like the casting, I like the look from the first trailer. I'll definitely see the movie. I'm just not particularly gung-ho about it, and I really ought to be; it's something that runs right up my alley.

I guess I might've been more excited if Mark Romanek had stayed the director and not been replaced by Joe Johnston - Johnston's not an unfathomably terrible director (I can't ever seem to change the channel whenever Jumanji is on) but he's not exactly inspiring either (Jurassic Park III shoulda been so much better). Romanek, on the other hand, rocks.

So hopefully this new trailer will up my enthusiasm once I watch it. I must say that there's one shot in the first trailer that kicks my ass every time I've seen it (and I swear I've seen the first trailer a dozen times now) and that shot is this:

Jinkies that's creepy. That is a freaky weird image, very much like something I would've expected from Romanek's take on the material, and it intrigues me.
