Wow That Looks Awful

Strangely enough I'd reiterated my marginal dislike for Bong Joon-Ho's The Host just earlier today, but nothing in that film looked as lousy as this, the first still from the sequel (via):

I do still wish though that the general success here in the States of The Host (at least for a subtitled movie) and then for Cloverfield had led to a Giant Monster Movie renaissance. We need these movies in our lives! To help us through... junk, and stuff. Ya know?

The host was just...laughable. I was under the impression I would be getting a thrill ride. Instead, I could not take the family seriously. That scene where they have pictures of the family, the missing and the dead? I could not stop laughing at the over the top weeping.

Of course, I had the same problem at a funeral recently. Maybe I am jut insensitive. But I still felt the Host failed to live up to it's hype and praise.

Is it a tick?

I won't be seeing this sequel unless you say it's good because we had the exact same reaction to it.
