Secondly, I can't believe I'll be seeing him live next week! And twice at that! It's been such a horrifically long time since I've seen him in concert. HORRIFIC. So that's exciting.
And lastly (but the only actual point of this entire post, natch) - Stereogum's got video and mp3's of three new songs of his that he sang up in Ithaca (which, you may have heard, is gorges), so you should check that if you love him like you ought to which is a whole heckuva lot.

Saw him in Cleveland and Pontiac, MI, last week. He played four new songs, but it almost seemed (seeing him two nights in a row) that he's playing around with the arrangements on stage. Pretty neat. One of the new songs is my clear favorite so far, but the others grew on me the second night--one in particular that I didn't care for the first time around.
AND--BONUS--we got to see the Red Dawn remake film on the same street as the Pontiac show, so we weren't bored in line. :-)
I'm really interested to hear about the NYC shows, so please post on them!!

in a word... swoon! also, funny you mention he played in ithaca. that's my hometown. i wonder which venue he was at (they have a great space downtown near the old State Theatre).
