"X-Files News stumbled on to a little news bite that was hanging out on foreign website Dnevnik.
"Of course I would accept to play in a new (third) "X-Files" movie", she said for Dnevnik.hr during the chat with the media and the audience at the last press conference of this 15th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
With this statement, the actress wanted to let people know that she's not bothered with the fact that most of the people call her "Agent Scully" which she has played over a decade in a tv-show and the two feature movies. The third movie, according to her, is in early stages and should be filmed by 2012!"
While they work to confirm the story, here at Bloody Disgusting we can tell you that there is in fact talk about doing another, even though the last film, I Want to Believe, was rated at 32% on Rotten Tomatoes. But looking at the box office number, it's no surprise that they're talking a third film as it took in over $68m worldwide. Something we can add to the story is there is talk of a REBOOT. Are you surprised? Nothing is set in stone, all should be taken as rumor until confirmed."
A reboot? What, with like new actors playing Mulder and Scully? Uhhhhhhhh.... let's hope not. I don't want to hear that shrieking. But I'd be down for a proper third film even if the second was a bit of a dud. The problem with the second movie was it got the short-end of the Writer's Strike stick. It got pushed into production when it wasn't ready. If they take their time this time I have complete faith that there's still plenty of juice left in the series. Isn't there some sort of 2012 thing in the show's mythology anyway? (pic via)

I felt the second movie...lacked something. I was hoping for a movie version of one of the thrill filled monster of the week episodes. Instead we just got a television episode.
The defrocked Priest with psychic visions felt like he was from a different episode entirely, with no real bearing on the story.
I would still be up to them trying it a third time. That is the charm-right?
