American Bitch

.

Hey, it's funny-lady Jane Lynch's birthday today! Woop woop! I'm using this random pic of her with John Waters (via) for this post just cuz it makes me smile. Get these two doing a movie together! I went looking through her IMDb page and found myself giggling every time I saw another role she knocked outta the park. And also when I saw she voiced "Joan Hobbie" in Holly Hobbie and Friends: Best Friends Forever, as well as having a role in some called Promtroversy (???). She's been in everything forever, basically. She was in Dolly Parton's mountain-wisdom radio-talk-show-host flick Straight Talk! She's been on ten episodes of (urgh) "Two and a Half Men"... well even despite that, happy birthday, lady! If I weren't feeling blown out right now I would offer up a list of my favorite performmances of hers... they are numerous. But I am. Blown out. Anyway, what's yours?

Even though she's awesome in everything she's in, I still love her as Paula in 40 Year Old Virgin. Her and Seth Rogen's back-and-forth is one of the best parts of the movie.

I loved her straight-up gig as a Chicago doctor in The Fugitive. She's so wasted in the pilot for Glee, reduced to cranky old man one-liners, but I hope the show gets better because she deserves better.

The only time I've ever watched Two and a Half Men was when I was channel surfing and saw her. "Hey, that's Jane Lynch!" and I'm in for the next 20 minutes. She was hilarious, even there. Charlie Sheen not so much.

Was happy to read recently that Jane has been invited to become a member of the Academy (of MPAS, of course)!
