Wow. Really?

.
I hadn't been paying a ton of attention to Død snø (aka Dead Snow, but it looks so much cooler in its native Norwegian, doesn't it?), the Nazi-zombie movie, besides knowing of its existence and being rightfully giddy over its existence and vaguely wondering when it would be out on DVD so I could see it at some point in the future whenever that was.

I assumed it'd be going right to DVD. I mean... that's how these things happen with wacky genre weirdo flicks like this. I had no idea it would be playing in an actual theater here in New York. Starting today! What? What indeed. I can see the Nazi-zombie movie on a real movie screen this weekend! Life is suddenly bedazzled with rainbows and unicorns and My Little Ponys and all of those things coated in buckets of pitch-black gut-gunk. Hooray!

And to make up for my lacking posting with regards
to this flick, here are some pictures from it:

Not to prejudice your experience or harsh your buzz, but I was pretty disappointed when I watched this not long ago. It was a bit too cartoonish for my tastes...I like to be a bit scared by the shuffling undead...hard to be when there's so much humor and over-the-top violence. I'm sure it's just what some people are looking for, though!

I like to be scared by them too, shaun, but I have room in my heart for cartoony zombies sometimes too. Lots of room really. A whole wing. ;-)

Dead Snow is also on OnDemand starting this weekend. I might have to see it that way for $5.99. But at least I'll get to see it!

It's easy to download too, I got it ages ago. Personally I LOVED it. Very clever humor and lots of campy gore :)

Just saw it. LOVED IT. You will too, I'm sure.

Oh and btw, have you seen or heard about the more serious horror/slasher movies (also Norweigan) "Fritt Vilt" 1 & 2 (a k a "Cold Prey"? I couldn't find anything about them on your blog, but they were serious fucking scares there. I actually screamed out loud at one point and it wasn't even dark out, and I'm not easily scared. I thought they were pretty even in quality, and the second follows the first directly, like Halloween and Halloween II.

See them!
