And Then There Was This "News"

Uhhhhh. Via BD:

"While there are no details, we've learned that 20th Century Fox is already working on developing a third entry in the Donnie Darko franchise. Their sequel, S. Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale his Blu-ray and DVD on May 12th and told the tale of Samantha Darko, Donnie's now grown up sister who also enters the tangent universe. Something that also caught our ears is that Richard Kelly might actually be involved at some capacity. But file this under rumor until we can receive official confirmation."

Okay, calling this "news" was a bit of a stretch, but rumor anyway. I tried to watch S. Darko and got about half an hour into it and stopped and that was weeks ago and I haven't been able to try again. It's that Ed Westwick character; I just can't abide him and his face. Ugh.

But Kelly's involvement... well that'd change things. In that interview with him that I just posted on right before this post, Kelly had this to say on stuff he has coming up:

"I can't get too much into it, but my next project might have a significant amount of motion capture in it. It's only about thirty-five percent of the film that will have motion capture; the rest is completely real world. Because I will never, ever... I will always love to be on location in a real place photographing actors in a real environment. That is incredibly exciting. But there's also something amazing about manufacturing a world from scratch. They're both incredibly exciting. So in the next film, I'm going to try to have both: very gritty location work and a bunch of CGI stuff that fits together in a very organic way."

So yeah, nothing that specific there, who knows. I guess we'll hear something eventually on what this is all about For now, it is what it is. Seriously. It is.
