Ain't We Got Fun

It was at the following point in Tommy that I realized...

... Kathie Lee Gifford has been auditioning for the role of Tommy's mother (seen above being memorably exorcised by Ann-Margret) for her entire life, hasn't she?

Cast Hoda as the Acid Queen and we may have a project on our hands.

Have we ever seen her drenched in baked beans? That'd be fun.

While I like Seth Meyers, I've got to say that the Kathie/Hoda skits are my favorite thing on SNL these days.

Ann Margret kicked ass in Tommy. One, she really was on the same drugs as everyone else. Two, she really gave her all to the beans. Sex Kitten with some fiber

Tommy is one of those "so bad it's good" films. I saw it when it first came out. I was with some friends and we ... well, let's just say we watched the film in an altered state thanks to a certain smoking substance. It really added a lot. Years later, when I watched the film sober I realized how awful it was ... of course Roger Daltry was at the height of his delectably then. Tina Turner pretty much owned this movie (for the ten minutes she was in it), and Ann Margret was OVER THE TOP...I read somewhere she's only two years older than R.D., and yet she played his mother.
