Speak On Sofia

Besides being Cate Blanchett's birthday today (and George Lucas', and Robert Zemeckis', and Danny from New Kids on the Block's) it is famed lady-auteur Sofia Coppola's 38th birthday. We love her here. So in the spirit of that love, let us judge the things she has accomplished in a meaninglessly trivial manner. Hooray!

She has made three movies so far. They are:

The Virgin Suicides (1999)

Lost In Translation (2003)

Marie Antoinette (2006)

Marie Antoinette. But they're all fabulous. And dreamy.

Ditto. Marie Antoinette's still one of my favourite flicks of the whole decade. Love everything about it, except perhaps for the fact that it basically sparked the Great Downfall of Kirsten Dunst.

The Virgin Suicides is one of my favorite movies. She just has a way of capturing the mood of the book so well.

Also, just wanted to say i've been reading your blog for a while and it's great. thank you.
