I Am Link

.
--- Dick Shadow - That is the name of Stephen Dorff's character in the porn-comedy Born to be a Star and I love it. This is the same flick that Christina Ricci joined last week that tells the tale of a guy that finds out his parents used to be big time porn stars before they had him. Nick "Reno 911" Swardson plays the guy, Ricci is his girlfriend (right, that's believable), and Dorff - as Dick Shadow, yay - is a legendary porn star. With this and Sophia Coppola's next film it's seeming like I've got a load of Dorff, so to speak, coming my way soon.

--- Joe For Jim - Joseph Gordon-Levitt has stepped into the role that James Franco had to drop out of in Chris Nolan's sci-fi thriller Inception. It's like hot apples and sexy oranges!

--- Crazier Later - The remake of Geoge Romero's The Crazies, starring Timothy Olyphant, has been shifted from a release date in September of this Fall all the way to February 2010.

--- Strut Trek - io9 has got a gallery with 20 new images of the Star Trek crew. No Bana in sight - never enough Bana! - but Chris Pine is looking kinda adorable in his jumpsuit there.

--- And finally, BD has word on Brad Anderson's next film. It's to be called Vanishing on 7th Street and so far John Leguizamo and Thandie Newton (UGH) are confirmed for the cast. I fucking hate Thandie Newton. Anyway, here's the plot synopsis:

"Following a mysterious blackout, most of the population vanishes into thin air. As the remaining survivors converge in a small tavern to figure out what happened, the darkness returns to claim them one by one. "

Anderson is a wonderfully talented director - see: Session 9, The Machinist... hey, he's directed four episodes of Fringe! I did not know that! - so I'll be keeping my eyes on this one. Even with fucking Thandie attached. Ugh.

Left Behind, again? Only this time, with real actors!
