Break For "The Dot and the Line"

.

.

They don't show Looney Tunes on TV on Saturday mornings anymore, do they? I've got most of them on DVD now... it's a different world. My point: I'm old!!!

Anyway, probably like most of us I watched me some Looney Tunes every Saturday morning as a little one, and for some reason Chuck Jones' 1965 cartoon "The Dot and the Line" drove my mother absolutely bonkers. She HATED it. So of course, being a little sadist in the making, I decided I adored it, and would turn it up as loud as I could when it came on. And yes, in case you were wondering, I was a delightful child. I haven't seen it in years, though. Yup - it's still genius.

Seems to me that the line and the squiggle should have run off together. Like all women, the dot is dull and boring and only cares about you if you pretend to be something that you're not. ;o)

I really enjoyed seeing that again...thanks. While I agree with Ross, I was thinking how unfair the ball was to the squiggle, the line worked for months and the squiggle got two tries.

My dear boy, you are most certainly NOT old! These Looney Tunes shorts were already classics when I was a child, and that was like a million and four years ago. Spend a day with my poor, arthritic knees and then complain about your age. Your taste in animation, however, is exquisite.
