Quote of the Day

.
It's always a cause to celebrate when Roger Ebert sees a movie that he hates, because he's one of the wittiest haters in the biz. I just love reading his negative reviews. And he doesn't let down with his review of the cheer-leading comedy Fired Up! which comes out this weekend:

"Here is a movie that will do for cheerleading what "Friday the 13th" did for summer camp.

Oh, is this movie bad. The characters relentlessly attack each other with the forced jollity of minimum-wage workers pressing you with free cheese samples at the supermarket."

There's plenty more where that came from, so check it. Love it. Although I will take this opportunity to post these pictures of the film's stars Nicholas D'Agosto and Eric Christian Olsen, because I'll never ever never have the opportunity otherwise...

How long do these two think they can get away with playing teenagers for anyway? Olsen (the blond one) is older than I am (and nobody but nobody is mistaking me for a teenager), and I remember the 28-year old D'Agosto vividly as the kid who finds the stray ballot in the trash ten years ago in Election. Give up the ghost, fellas!

D'Agosto is making me want to see it... *worried*

Nick is cute, for sure. You should see the movie Inside, JD, if you haven't already. It slipped under the radar but it's a decent little thriller starring him. It's on Netflix, and it can fill your D'Agosto need without resorting to this nonsense!

Does anybody remember what happened with him on Heroes? I'm coming up blank.

*Netflixes so fast*

Do not see that movie for Leighton Meester, J.D. She's barely in it and sucks (and you know I love me some Blair).

And I will totally see this cheerleading crap on Netflix or HBO or something because fake teens or not, those boys are all right.

"Bring It On!" (2000), the "Citizen Kane" of cheerleader movies.

That made me laugh out loud. Classic!
