Close Hollywood, It's Done

At least, that's what Joss Whedon is saying will be the outcome of his still-to-be-shot horror-flick Cabin in the Woods. Via STYD:

"Ultimately it's my and Drew [Goddard]'s take on the classic horror movie...

Which means it's a classic horror movie, but also means we have something specific to say about it and a different way of saying it than we've seen before.

I think afterwards people will love it so much there will be no more need for movies. They will want to watch this movie over and over again."
.
If it were anyone else saying this I'd be so annoyed, but I have a large seared imprint of Joss Whedon's name branded onto my hindquarters that does not alow such negativities to be spoken. You tell 'em, Jos... I mean Mr. Whedon.

Weirdly enough, this kind of thing doesn't annoy me about Joss. Just because it's so clear he's kidding. It's when he gets into the "poor me" stuff that I get annoyed.

exactly what i'd say - but i'll be thanking mr. whedon for the rest of my life for giving buffy [the series] to this cold and boring world.
