More interesting chatter from the brain and mouth of Joss Whedon. From an interview:
Why of why does Tom Cruise have to be insinuating his nefarious self into this? Why is he hurting my brain? Ugh. I've maintained my dislike of him through his supposed highs (Tropic Thunder) and lows (Valkyrie) this year, but if he's giving money and green-lights to Joss Whedon I don't know if I can hold on to my hatred. Somebody talk me down!
.
"Whedon, who wrote the upcoming horror movie Cabin in the Woods with former Buffy writer Drew Goddard, met with Tom Cruise as head of United Artists, since MGM owns a majority stake in UA and the film was developed with MGM.
"We met with him to hear his suggestions, sort of his take on it," Whedon said in a Dec. 6 interview in Los Angeles. "But it was already sort of in the pipeline when they bought it; that was the idea. We're in preproduction. We start shooting in March, so the train has left the station, and so we're just sort of, well, we're filling up the train."

The Last Samurai.
Ahh, yes. Thank you!
Say what you will, I would still do the Cruise in respect to all my adolescent fantasies. I can never be upset with Jack from Legend.
