Whither The Laser-Wielding Velociraptors?

Somebody asked producer (and frequent Spielberg collaborator) Kathleen Kennedy about the state of Jurassic Park 4, and here's what she said:

"No... I don't know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it."

If by "mess with" you mean "put lasers on the dinosaurs' heads and turn them into Government killing machines" then you'd already done that before Michael Crichton died. Or at least allowed that ridiculous script to be passed around. How abouts you shore up his legacy with a kick-ass movie sans Velociraptor assassin squads? That'd be fine.

Kennedy also confirmed that Spielberg's Abe Lincoln bio starring Liam Neesen will start shooting in the Spring.
