Good F'ing Morning, World!

If you haven't noticed, I haven't been paying much attention to awards stuff this year... it seems with each passing season my interest wanes as their choices grow more tedious. Still they get shit right here and there and this is one of those times:

Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in In Bruges both nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical for the Golden Globes, and the film itself for Best Picture Comedy/Musical. In-fucking-deed. I salute you, Hollywood Foreign Press. I don't imagine that the Oscars will have the balls to nominate any of it, but maybe this will cement a nomination at the very least for Martin McDonagh's fantastic script. I'm disappointed that Ralph Fiennes didn't get in for Supporting, but these two acting noms (inevitably canceling each other out, naturally) alone are the sort of thing to start a morning right.

Check out the rest of the nominations here, or read Nat's eventual take over here. For more on my In Bruges infatuation, click here.

ETA Also a big word for the nomination for Rebecca Hall in Vicky Christina Barcelona. I was secretly hoping she'd get some love. Yay!

My future history with the Oscars hinges on whether they nominate In Bruges. The Oscars was my own personal holiday but as of late, I am very disillusioned. I loved In Bruges so much I had to buy it. I really think it beats The Big Lebowski for being delightfully quotable. The other movie I am rooting for is The Fall (not sure if it qualifies time wise), at least something for the visuals.

Yeah, In Bruges is probably my favorite film of the year thus far as well (Still haven't seen Synecdoche). Also Ballast. The Visitor is also one of the best films of the year. Really, check out The Visitor. It is excellent.

Still no BSG or Mary McDonnell noms. Fuck 'em!

I think that "In Bruges" could get a nom for Original Screenplay.

I'm glad that "In Bruges" got some love.

Ack, I hadn't even noticed that, Stacie. I always skip reading the TV noms for some reason. What a bunch of haters! Mary McDonnell will throw them all out the fuckin airlock!

Excuse me - the FRAKKING airlock. I got confused.

Tom Cruise?! Really?! Am I the only one that didn't find him funny AT ALL?

I didn't like him either, RJ.

I'm just paying attention to the good stuff, though. There's never a shortage of stupid choices.
