6 Off My Head - My, How Daisies Comforts Me

So how about that episode of Pushing Daisies last night, huh? It had it all - romance, deception, intrigue, horrific violence, musical numbers, Kristen Chenoweth's rack. But then again, every freaking episode has those things and every freaking episode is a wonder and still... deep breaths... this is not the place for bitterness. I am extolling the virtues of last night's episode, titled "Comfort Food" (written by Buffy vet Douglas Petrie!), here. Here's a picture-riffic list of some stuff I took note of (and you ought to be taking note with all these pictures of just how amazing this show is to look at):

1) The resemblance between Young Ned (Field Cate) and Old Ned (Lee Pace) struck me especially hard. Do y'all think this story-line of friendship from Ned's boarding school days is going somewhere? I wanna see Eugene Mulchandani show up in the present!

2) I lightened this frame up considerably just so you could see what made me almost fall off of my chair:

That's Chuck taking a glove from Ned's hand, and that's awfully fucking close for the two of them wouldn't you say? I know, I have a promise from the lips (or ya know, the fingertips) of Bryan Fuller himself that they won't accidentally touch, but still. Pins and needles.

3) "I'm delicious!"

And Ned's grossed-out reaction was priceless:

4) Ellen Greene's storyline is breaking my heart. And of course she's acting the shit out of it. Can we get an Emmy nomination over here, anybody?

5) I don't wanna lose this feeling... oohhhh....

Close your eyes, and give me your hand... (darlin')

Do you feel my heart beating? Do you understand?

Do you feel the same? Am I only dreaming...

6) MARIANNE

MARIE

BEETLE

IN THE HOUSE, Y'ALL!

Daisies makes me cry doubly because our HD set up will come right around when the show is ending. And I won't get to love it in the bright colors God and Bryan Fuller intended.

What a great episode. One of my favorites! And Olive singing Eternal Flame was great...thanks for the caps.

Best episode of the season? I'd go so far as to say that. Olive singing? Automatic 100,000,000 points.

I actually clapped when Olive began singing--and laughed out loud when Ned "said her name."

Delicious episode, in so many ways.

Such a brilliant fucking episode!
Makes me twice as sad that ABC are a bunch of tools.

Loved it so much and got chills when Olive was singing. Her race with the Beetle was classic.

I especially can't wait for this one. I love Beth Grant, she was so good in Donnie Darko and Malcolm in the Middle and Little Miss Sunshine and Jericho. Seriously, those pictures were a delight.
