--- And The Fiasco Continues - Well they're looking at a writer for the Spielberg-Smith Oldboy remake abortion - his name is Mark Protosevich and he was a co-writer on that milestone cinematic achievement I Am Legend. Can you feel the bitter just oozing off the page right now? Are you drowning in it? Are your ancestors drowning in it? Then I have done my duty here.

--- In "That's a good idea for remaking!" news (don't hear that too often), Gore "Pirates of the Caribbean and The Ring remake" Verbinski is set to produce a remake of the Korean monster movie The Host, which is so overrated it's deplorable. All they have to do is make a movie that doesn't hate it's characters so very deeply and it'll be a vast improvement over the sloppy-ass original, so I'm excited.

--- Noni Spotted! - The boyfriend and I have been made very angry this year by the fact that Robert Downey Jr. can stage this triumphant comeback from heroin and imprisonment while Winona Ryder popped some extra Percocet and stuffed a scarf in her bag and has all but vanished. So it excited me to briefly glimpse her in the Star Trek trailer as Spock's mama, even though she'll undoubtedly have nothing to do and appears to be made up thirty years older than she is (granted, a necessary adjustment since she and Zachary Quinto are just six years apart in real life).

--- The Bear Jew Films Nazi Propaganda - Eli Roth is spending a chunk of his time on the set of Inglorious Basterds (ugh that misspelling is still driving me bonkers) filming:
