--- Detecting the Ectoplasm - A couple of bits of new today on a flick that I've been waiting for new info on for months now: you may remember hearing about Paranormal Activity - I posted on it here - the like-Cloverfield-but- with-a-ghost movie... well I guess it sold like hot-cakes to countries the world over for distribution this past weekend and, while there is still talk of it's being remade - which worries me that we might never get a real release of the original here in the States, because that's what happens here in this sucky horror film market (like [REC]) - BD mentions a rumor that gives me hope:

"Rumor has it that the remake has been scrapped while the original film is tightened up, although that has yet to be confirmed."

--- Dirty Pillows - Shamefully I forgot to link to it before, but it'll never be not worth reading - back on Halloween, StinkyLulu critiqued Piper Laurie's one-for-the-ages performance as Margaret White in Brian De Palma's Carrie. Spot on as always.

--- Boy-To-Girl-On-Girl - Nicole Kidman is producing and starring in The Danish Girl, the true-life story of Einer Wegener, the world's first post-op transsexual. Charlize Theron will play her wife. I love that THR points out that both actresses earned their previous Oscars by playing lesbians, and also brings up Prop 8. Way to corral all the queer you can into it!

The Box is still scheduled for release on March 20th.
