I Don't Know About "Badass"...

... which is what Dread Central calls this picture, but it is nice to finally have a sizable image from Park Chan-wook's next flick Thirst:


That's Korean actor Kang-ho Song in the lead role of a priest turned vampire. Doom to surely ensue!

The last film I saw Kang-ho in, The Host, I found him to be awfully annoying, but that could have just been that film's direction which I found in general terrifically overrated. Kang-ho's been great in two earlier Chan-wook films, JSA and Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance (he's also in Lady Vengeance but honestly I can't remember who he was in that film; I think it's time to revisit that movie actually) so I have high hopes for him here.

Not that I'd be capable of having anything but extremely high hopes for a new flick coming from Park, one of my favorite living filmmakers. The fact that this film's getting an actual American distribution as well only amps up my excitement. And a vampire story to boot! Yeehaw.
