I Am Monday Link

--- Yorick In Waiting - Disturbia director DJ Caruso is still blathering on about wanting to do Y: The Last Man next; I guess he's turned in his script and is waiting for the green-light. And he still wants Shia to star. UGH. And they're still talking about Alicia Keys for 355. Double UGH. I suppose I'm just going to have to force myself to come to terms with disappointment on this one, huh?

--- No Point Bitching - Since John Carpenter's The Thing is the ultimate example of a remake bettering the original film, bitching about a remake of that remake gets... hypocritical. And anyway, according to Latino Review's chat with producer Marc Abraham, it's not a real remake anyway (they never are these days, right?). This new version of The Thing is going to be a prequel, telling the story of the Norwegians who are butchered by the alien lifeform in John Carpenter's film before it gets to Kurt Russell & Co. So... we already know the ending. The fun is in the journey...? There will be a point in bitching if they replace the Greatest Practical Monster Special Effects In Cinematic History with CG crap though.

--- I Want Her Job - Rachel McAdams gets to make out with Eric Bana and be paid a lot of money for her troubles. I hate her.

--- Love Them Button Eyed Ghouls - STYD visited the set of Henry Selick's stop-motion adaptation of Neil Gaiman's kid-classic Coraline, and has a couple (woefully tiny) behind-the-scenes pictures. Cannot wait for this movie.

--- Enter The Flood - SlashFilm has got a long interview with Darren Aronofsky up, in which they chat about how he really wants to direct a movie about that crusty old sea-man Noah and his double-beasted Ark next. And he whips out the Titanic comparisons, obviously angling for the cash money already. Sell it, son, sell it.

--- Giallo Fever - Adrien Brody explains why he chose to star in Dario Argento's next flick, Giallo. It involves wanting to see his real-life girlfriend covered in gore, and Asia Argento. Obviously.

--- More Croc To Love - Stale Popcorn tells of another Down-Under Evil Crocodile movie, this one called Black Water, that I'll have the misfortune of being annoyed at its non-release for endless months over. Yay! Cuz Greg McLean's Rogue wasn't enough of a heart-breaker, ya know.

Alicia Keys. As 355.

Really?

I hope this movie version never gets off the ground. I agree with the person that suggested that the story of Y would be better served as an HBO series.

Hey, Alicia Keys has been getting some great reviews for The Secret Life of Bees.

Ja, Black Water is already out on DVD in the UK and I read it has been sold to a lot of foreign territories, so I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up over your side of the pond sometime.
