Pics of the (Satur)Day

.

Is it weird that it's gotten to the point that I don't even bother bringing cameras to concerts anymore because I know the interweb will be stuffed full with professionally snapped, lovely photos of the events I'm at within hours? Well it's true. I'm no photographer, and these pictures from All Points West - the festival in New Jersey this past weekend where I went and got my Radiohead on - might lack the personality of a snapshot taken by yours truly, but they make up for that in grandeur. And anyway, I am a sad-sack and went by myself, and who wants to look at pictures of me standing around in a puddle of urine all alone? I mean, if I'd been with friends, everyone would obviously want pictures of us standing in a puddle of urine. But me by myself? No thank you!

Ahem. That top pic is from this article on the festival in The New York Times. It's the nicest picture I've seen so far. The below snaps are from Brooklyn Vegan's bit on the night I was at.

As you can tell, Radiohead's lighting and stage set-up was awe-inspiring. Just... I haven't the words.

I really didn't do any of the other artists besides Radiohead. They were who I was there for, so I have nothing to share on anyone else. I went to the main stage five hours before they went on, and stood there in my tiny me-sized allotment of space (seriously, it became body-against-body by the time Radiohead started), patiently waiting for them, and didn't move until the night was over. (How I didn't piss myself, especially since I chugged two beers immediately before taking over my space, I do not know.) As for Radiohead... y'all know I can't talk impartially on them. It was a religious experience. My feet floated off the ground. I fucking cried. (I am lame.) But it was awesome.
