Persia Delayed

The cinema has become a barren wasteland. There hasn't been a bit of Jake Gyllenhaal on-screen since Rendition, which came out in October of last year, and his next finished flick, Brothers, is simply listed as being in post-production. As for Nailed, his flick with David O. Russell, well it's also listed that way but lord knows, what with all the delays that thing went through. And now, his big action flick, Prince of Persia, is fluttering off further into the future as well (via):

"Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have pushed back the release date of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, by almost a year according to Variety.

The film was originally set for a June 19, 2009 opening, but has now been shifted to May 28, 2010 (Memorial Day Weekend).

Disney said the move will allow them ample time to complete the huge amount of post-production special effects needed to create the exotic world.

However there is also speculation that the studio want to take the film out of the line of fire of Transformers 2, which opens Stateside on June 26 next year. Now the film will go head-to-head with Shrek Goes Fourth instead."

Bah humbug, it's a tough time to be a Gyllenhaalic. Movie troubles and... Reese... dark days, my friends. These are dark days.

I think he needs to broke up to Reese Witherspoon because is a bad luck magnet...

Even Reese is in bad luck after her Oscar... Rendition was panned and Penelope was a total fail.

Brothers is coming out this December so hopefully it will be screened at TIFF in September.

Fingers crossed that Brothers in Dec. 08, Nailed *prays* in 2009 as reported in the Hollywood Reporter the other day and PoP in 2010. Will help with the Gyllendraught.
