Mark Your Calendars! (In Pencil, Preferably!)

.
Cabin in the Woods, you may remember (previous post), is the horror flick that Drew Goddard, aka excellent former Buffy/Angel writer, aka Cloverfield writer, is gonna be directing and co-writing with that Joss Whedon fellow. Well BD has a release date:

"MGM has slated Drew Goddard's (Cloverfield) latest project, The Cabin in the Woods, for release October 23, 2009, although early announced dates like these rarely stick. In addition, MGM is putting the film out a week before Lionsgate's Saw VI, which will hit theaters on October 30th. I'm not quite sure it's such a good idea to let them go head-to-head as Jigsaw will ruin Goddard's (short) camping trip. WOODS is being co-written by fan fav Joss Whedon. No details have been released for either film."

You know, fuck Saw. I know y'all know I don't like that franchise in the slightest, but come on - isn't it about time that tired ass piece-of-shit franchise loosened its lame grasp on Halloween? Six fucking years in a row. I'm fucking sick of it. Bring it on, Jigsaw, you lame motherfucker!

And yes, apparently this topic makes me vulgar as heck. Another quarter in the swear-jar!

The continuance of the Saw franchise just makes me sad, and I say that as a major fan of the first one. Like, who even cares anymore? Sigh.
