I Am Link

--- Pegg, Interrupted - Simon Pegg has had to drop out of Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards because of scheduling conflicts. Mainly, he's lined up a director (the guy who directed Superbad!) for his next collaboration with the Laurel to his Hardy, Nick Frost... so not a terrible trade-off I suppose.

I still have a very bad taste in my mouth from Run Fatboy Run, though. Hear me, Simon? You do right by me from now on, mister.

--- Bai Ling's Baby Pudding - That's a reference to the terrific horror flick Dumplings, which is only semi-related to this story - it's director, Fruit Chan, is apparently directing an English-language flick called Don't Look Up starring Henry "E.T." Thomas and... Eli Roth? Well, a cameo by Roth at least, since The LA Times has a new gallery of stills including an image of him (seen up to the left there).

--- Skellington the Second - STYD has word from a brief chat with stop-motion director Henry Selick on the brief discussion and future possibility of a sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas... thankfully, he seemed horrified at the mere mention of doing the film in CG. They also mention that there's about six more weeks of work still to be done on his adaptation of Neil Gaiman's fantastic story Coraline, which is due out in February.

--- Once Bitten - Tis a moment to be celebrated when The Film Experience watches a horror flick - Nat went and briefly reviewed Teeth today, the vagina-dentata flick from earlier this year! And he sort of liked it! Exactly about the same as I did (His grade: B-, Mine: B)! Next thing you know, he'll be plastering TFE with pictures of Cenobites, I swear.

--- Please, somebody tell me that this story's full of shit - THR is reporting that distributors aren't lining up to buy Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, i.e. Heath ledger's final film... because of Gilliam's lousy box office history. Just when I thought the film industry wouldn't be able to fuck around with Gilliam anymore, they go ahead and do so anyway. hello, distributors? People want to see this movie. You will make money on it. Get a grip.

--- And finally
, Dark Knight slash!
