Where the hell was I yesterday, anyway? Well, head over to The Film Experience this morning and find out. I took over duties for Nat's Tuesday Top Ten this week, and... it's a doozy, if I do say so myself. (And I do!) I whittled down, with great insanity care, my 10 favorite film performances by a female in a horror motion picture. Eek! I know. It nearly killed me, the effort. So go check that out.
For here at MNPP however, I saved a little love for some of the ladies that just missed the cut. On another day, any of these women probably could've snuck their way in (well, not into the top 5, those are pretty set in stone, but 6-10 could've maybe done some shifting).... I give you my next favorite ten horror ladies... and they're all blonds! What does it mean???
Fay Wray & Naomi Watts in the King Kongs '33 & '05
Nicole Kidman in The Others
Marilyn Burns in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
Julie Harris in The Haunting (1963)
Drew Barrymore in Scream
Catherine Deneuve in Repulsion
Janet Leigh in Psycho (1960)

Again, head over to The Film Experience to see who beat these wonderful ladies. And take your complaints about my craziness to the comments.

What about Ashley Laurence as Kirsty in Hellraiser? She's such a good screamer and stubborn too!
Judith was robbed. She should have been on your top 10 list
I think Shelley Duvall should've been #1.
Barrymore should have been on what was otherwise a killer list!
How could you forget Barabara Steele in Mask Of Satan (Black Sunday)!!!!
Great 20 performances, nicely done. They probably wouldn't be in that order, but I can't really argue with any of them.
I can't help but wondering where these lovely ladies are...
Neve Campbell, Scream
Clare Higgins, Hellraiser
Veronica Cartwright, Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Michelle Pfeiffer, What Lies Beneath
I think there are several others, but...
