I Am Some Link

Friday, half-day, blah blah blah.

--- For just today, Amazon is selling each season of The X-Files on DVD for the low low price of $19.99 apiece. I assume it's got something to do with the movie or something. Get yo Sculder on!

--- The Best Robo-Man For The Robo-Job - I really didn't think this'd happen, it just seems weird, but Darren Aronofsky has officially signed on to do the Robocop sequel. I guess they've decided it is a sequel, and not a remake. Weird.

--- It's always worth linking to when Rich at FourFour does a horror post, and his take on "POV Horror" is no exception. Although he thoroughly disses [REC], which... just no.

--- All The Frak That Could Have Been - io9 has a nice post on what Bryan Singer's Battlesta Galactica might have been like if it hadn't gotten derailed by 9/11. An interesting "What if" but what we did end up getting is so good I'm glad how things turned out.

--- I'm so torn on Alex Proyas' next movie Knowing - I still hold out hope that he can maybe live up to the promise that Dark City showed... but Knowing stars Nicolas "Throw-Up" Cage. Throw up. Anyway, AICN has a nice chat up with Proyas on this and all the shit he's up to, including the Director's Cut DVD of Dark City that comes out next week.

--- Book Club! - Low Resolution is starting a book club! Watchmen, y'all!

--- And finally, y'all have probably read this already, but if not I highly recommend it: the fabulous Teri Garr gave a fantastic interview to The Onion's AV Club early this week, and she dishes so much shit on all the people she's worked with over the years she had me in stitches the whole read. Great, great stuff from a truly gifted, underappreciated actress. I wanted to do a "Quote of the Day" post from it, but there's a great quote spilling out every time she opens her mouth. So good.

I was almost an extra on Knowing! But then it proved too much of a hassle and decided against it.
