Whose Corn Flakes Did Richard Kelly Piss In Ten Years Ago, Anyway?

.
Donnie Darko came out on October 28th, 2001. It flopped, probably somewhat due to the fact that nobody really wanted to watch a movie about planes falling out of the sky one month after 9/11. When it hit DVD, it became a pretty successful cult hit, essentially delivering unto the world the joy of the Gyllenhaal, something I will forever be thankful to Kelly for. Kelly's follow-up film, Southland Tales... well I documented that film's arduous release-and-flop process in real time. And now, it seems, The Kelly Curse is striking anew, with his third flick, The Box, having its release date moved yet again (via STYD):

"Warner Bros. decided March 20th was no good for Richard Kelly's The Box, starring Cameron Diaz. You can look for the film now on September 11, 2009."

I love that it's opening on 9/11. Nothing like the eighth anniversary of mass murder to make one feel like watching Cameron Diaz wrestle with sci-fi tinged questions of morality! Good times.

Listen Richard, give me a call. You're obviously not giving head to the right higher-ups, or you're doing it wrong or something, because goddamn you cannot catch a break. Let me guide you. It would be my honor.

So would he be giving you head or would you be giving him head?
