Buffy the Wonderland Slayer

.
Everybody remember the Alice video-game adaptation that Sarah Michelle Gellar was rumored to be up for the lead in? Yeah, notsomuch, via STYD:

""The Alice project is presently in "turnaround" from Universal Studios," [producer Scott] Faye tells McGee's blog. "Jon and Erich Hoeber have written a very compelling feature film screenplay adaptation of the Alice game. Their screenplay will certainly serve as a jumping off point as we find a new studio home for the project. In terms of the realistic chances of seeing the Alice project being produced, all I can say is that I have invested... a lot of time and effort in this project. We will get it made."

... Sarah Michelle Gellar is not attached to star. "Her initial involvement was the result of a very talented and effective member of her management team who became aware of the project and pursued on Sarah's behalf."

Alas. I was discussing SMG the other day with the boyfriend and how unbelievably funny she was in Southland Tales and what a damned shame it was that that movie fizzled so very badly and she wasn't given her due there, because it's one of the best comedic performances of the year. It was a role tailor-made for her strengths, just like I'm assuming this Alice role would be. Sucks that she can't catch a break. I guess she could always show up as a season-long Big Bad on Dollhouse... [yeah, I just fainted at that thought].

SMG on 'Dollhouse' would be too much for any Buffy fan to handle. Just to hear Joss' dialogue coming out of her mouth again, let alone sparring with Eliza, would be off-the-charts amazing.

Mental telepathy to SMG: do it.

Good - anything that might convince SMG to return as Buffy! Still holding out for that one day! Seeing the "X-Files" trailer recently reminded me how GREAT it would be to see the "Scooby Gang" reunite on the big screen! Probably never gonna happen - but one can dream...

Huge fan of your blog man - a definite daily read!
