Where The Heck Is Todd Solondz?

.

What the hell happened to Todd Solondz? Has anyone heard anything about his next project? The last time I'd heard anything to post about was way back in June of last year with the bliss-delivering news that he and Paul Reubens were set to work together on a psuedo-sequel to Happiness. That was supposed to shoot in the Fall, but there's nothing listed for either of them on IMDb.

I should've known that it was cursed. Everything Paul Reubens touches is cursed! I say that with love, but it's true. He's been talking up his two Pee Wee Herman movies for well over a decade and we've yet to see anything there (although IMDb does say that Pee Wee's Playhouse: The Movie is "In Production"... liars).

Come back to us, Todd Solondz! We need you. More importantly, I need you. Think of me, goddammit! Or... the children. Think of the children!

ETA I did some searching after I posted this (What? I'm supposed to do that beforehand? D'oh!) and came up with a couple points of interest via an article at SlashFilm from January:

--- Paul Reubens says that financing has fallen through three times.

--- It's to be called Life During Wartime.

--- Characters from both Happiness and Welcome to the Dollhouse will intermingle, but might be played by different actors than they were in the original (Reubens says that he'd be playing a character that was played by someone else in one of the earlier films).
