Latter Day Delirium

Ya know... I really got nothing today. My synapses are fried; I can barely string together a sentence. I've been doing my usual - scanning the internets, looking at the endless supply of shite it supplies, trying to think up something anything to say. But nada. Zilch. So on with the euphemisms for endless nothingness.

I could direct you to the new trailer for The Incredible Hulk but frankly I don't give a rat's ass about that movie anymore. I was a little curious at first, but no more. I keep hearing all this "poor tortured artist Ed Norton" bullshit and I ain't buying it. Mr. Norton gets credit from me for Fight Club and for American History X, but otherwise, come on people, he was in Death to Smoochy and Keeping the Faith. And I've maintained ever since he appeared on the scene back in '96 that his performance in Primal Fear was ridiculously overvalued. Ooo I'm innocent, oooo no I'm evil; boring fucking performance.

All that is to say that I'd take Eric Bana a thousand times over before even considering Ed Norton.

What else, what else... as long as I'm adding to the drivel that is today, that Hulk train-o-thought sent me scurrying for pictures of Eric Bana - a commonplace enough occurrence here at MNPP - and I randomly stumbled upon these shots of a post-bukakke Orlando Bloom which I'll probably never find a valid reason to share, so what the hell:

Yes, Orlando, it's true; it does do a body good.

I understand what you're saying, and I'd never say an unkind word about Eric Bana (...in your presence), but in this case I'm definitely going to side with Norton over Louis "director of The Transporter AND The Transporter 2" Leterier. He's probably a nightmare to work with, but I'm with him here.

And you're so wrong about Primal Fear.

I was under the impression I was the only one who thought "Primal Fear" and everything about "Primal Fear" was overrated. I was gobsmacked that people were suckered into cries of "No Way!!" at the twist of the wimpy scrawny meek guy turning out to be an evil mastermind, considering Kevin Spacey did the exact same thing *one year* earlier in the almost equally overrated "The Usual Suspects."

The only time Norton has left a strong impression on me was "AHX" which I did not like as a film, though his performance elevated it.

So, yeah, that's uh, that's what I think.

I've never actually seen The 25th Hour, now that you mention it Nat. I'm not sure how it slipped thru the cracks; I always meant to see it. Huh. Off to my queue...

Ohhhhh, it's such a good movie. It'll make you like Rosario Dawson if you don't already.

I see The Calcium Kid at the video store I go to all the freakin' time and it weirds me out to no end.

Norton was indeed fine in 25th Hour, but I can't watch American History X - Romper Stomper is the only movie I've ever had to stop and walk away from because it was too much - so I'm not tied to Norton at all. And Fight Club was all about Carter and Pitt.

What was the scene or moment in Romper Stomper that disturbed you so bad?
