That's One Bloodied Benicio

.

The first pap-pics from the set of The Wolfman have turned up online (over here). That's Benicio Del Toro in battered but human form above, and below is a shot of Anthony Hopkins as one "Sir John Talbot" whom, well, I don't know, I've stayed away from spoilers. But since Sir Tony's playing this character it's not unusual for me to think it's a Abraham Ven Helsing type of character, right? Or is he Benicio's sire? Do werewolves have "sires"? Is that the right word? Ugh, it's a little early in the morning for me to test my brain's story-building faculties. Whatever.

in the original "The Wolf Man," with Lon Chaney Jr, he plays Lawrence Talbot, who returns to his home town to visit his aging father John Talbot (Claude Rains) and gets bit by Bela Lugosi, turns into a werewolf, and wackiness ensues. so... it's his dad, if not his "sire."

Thanks, Sam. I haven't rewatched the Universal monster movies in years; I figured it was something simple like that.
