Nice Knowin' Ya, Regina...

.

... for all of ten seconds! WTF? (oh, um, SPOILERS for last night's ep of Lost here!)

I mean... is that it? They cast Zoe freakin' Bell to read a book upside down, glare angrily, and then throw herself off the ship wrapped in chains? I mean, as a cameo it's a great lil' thing, but I didn't want a cameo! I wanted Zoe kickin ass and taking names. I wanted her swooping in hanging from a rope ladder and taking Kate in her arms and doing some sort of drink-blood-out-of-a-skull ritual that made Kate her evil lesbian lover and they would swing and tumble through the forest making mincemeat out of all that crossed their paths. Or something. Gah.

Okay, that outta the way, as always with Jin and Sun episodes, I had tears streaming down my face at the end. What is it about these two's sad story that cuts through my heart? Daniel Dae Kim and, especially, the amazing Yunjin Kim are such strong performers; I wish we got to see more of them. Vicious face-slapping of Juliet! Shrugging off perennial do-gooder Jack! Ah, sweetness. I love you, Sun.

That end... like I said, sad sad sadness. Why didn't any of the other Oceanic Six come, though? Why would they have something against Sun? Argh, the questions.

The whole switch-up with flash-forwards and flashbacks in one episode was a nasty bit of writerly work, though. I sorta saw it coming - Jin's puffy hair - but still, at the same time as admiring it from a writer's standpoint and how it mixes up the game even further (how long until one scenes a flashback, the next one's a flash-forward... we'll have no idea when it is!), from a viewer's standpoint it was a little cruel, them pulling that rug out from under us like that.

What did y'all think of the episode?

I haven't cried that much at a television show since Jaslene won America's Next Top Model, two cycles ago.

You did NOT just go dissing Death Proof to me, Sean! And Zoe to boot! I'm gonna have to smack you around the next time I see you, I swear.

Glad to hear I wasn't the ONLY one crying at the end of the episode!

Maybe she isn't dead, this is Zoe friggin' Bell. I'm sure that the water snapped her out of her malaise and she is swimming towards the island, taking the time to kill a great white shark and make a necklace out of it's teeth.
I look forward to her washing up on shore and needing some mouth to mouth from Kate or Juliet or Sun.

Easily one of my favorite episodes. I, too, was a moist toilette by the end.

Is it possible that Jin's not dead? That he stayed behind on the island (for whatever reason) so that Sun and the baby could live?
