Is it gonna be the sort of day where I'm just swiping shit from other sites (don't say that's every day, or an angel dies)? Hey, at least I'm posting, unlike yesterday. Deal with it! Ahem. Anyway, Towleroad posted a couple of shots of Sean Penn (blurgh) and James Franco as Harvey Milk and his boyfriend Scott Smith on the set of Milk, Gus Van Sant's now-shooting biopic.
As much as I hate Sean Penn - and I do, with a solemn ferocity - I still can't help but look forward to this movie. Especially after finally catching The Times of Harvey Milk - the 1984 doc on the man - over the weekend. Fertile ground, this story, for greatness.
On a sidenote, the boyfriend is in San Francisco for work right now, and I talked to him on the telephone over the weekend while he was actually right in the Castro and he didn't notice anything film-related up... but then I see these shots and I think he wasn't really looking, because dude the whole place has been turned into a movie set! Sheesh. I have to do everything myself.
