The Gatekeeper's Kibosh

Hee, that title makes me giggle. Anyway, Cinematical has posted a quote from Miss Siggy herself - that's Sigourney Weaver - on the prospects of a third Ghostbusters film ever happening... and her reaction to the question also makes me giggle:

"When I pointed out that the film industry's renewed focus on next-gen 3D imagery and CG-rendered worlds means that perhaps a third Ghostbusters adventure is still feasible, Weaver looked at me a bit like I had just given her a toothache. She then took a big breath and said "Well, I just saw Ivan Reitman at this dinner, this lunch for his son, and, ummm, there's no way.""

Hee. Can't you just picture the look on her face? I think I'd crap my pants if Siggy ever looked at me how I'm imagining she looked at this interviewer. The withering glare! Man I love her.

Anyway, I think, at this point, it's probably for the best that the Ghostbusters franchise be thrown into mothballs and sealed up alongside the Ark of the Covenant... ooooh wait, bad analogy.

I'd like to say that I love Ghostbusters, but Ghostbusters II wasn't so good and so I'm glad that the chance of a Ghostbusters III is slim to none. Sigourney's still the (wo)man, though, no doubt.
