It's Not Hairspray

I'm thinking Sunday will be the day for when I see Sweeney Todd... appropriate, it being the Lord's Day and all. But, reading A.O.Scott's rave review in the Times today, the best prognosticator to my possible enjoyment of the film came at the very end, where he describes what the film is rated and why:

"“Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). It’s not “Hairspray.”"

Amen to that, brother.
