It's Raining Babies

Y'all know I'm a fan of a good and gruesome demise. Hell, I revel in a new one each week! But even I've got a line, and Dead Calm always makes me wonder: during the car accident at the start of the film that leaves Nicole Kidman's character emotionally scarred, do we really need the shot of her infant son flying through the windshield?

It seems a little much, no? There wasn't a way to get this across without echoing those drunk-driving PSA's they made us watch in high school? I suppose they could've shown the dummy-baby skid across the gravel; at least we were spared that. Or is there a director's cut I don't know about?

Hm, I don't think it's a little much. Does that make me a bad person? I hope not. :)
