Ya know, all y'all screenwriters out there, allowing yourselves to be creatively raped by retarded executives, y'all need to re-learn the basic concept of SHAME. Shame on you for saying okay, for agreeing to throw your efforts behind a project like this. If y'all stood up and said We're not gonna take it anymore! We can write new things! and everybody stopped then maybe this sorry fucking state of remaking everything ever made would stop. From Variety (via AICN):
Fuck you, Cory Goodman. Yeah, I'm sure this "pitch" of yours was fucking original and exciting and fresh, wasn't it? Asshole. My rage is about to manifest itself, bitch, and it won't be pretty.
Wow it's a little early in the day for so much hostility, innit? Sigh.
.
"Spyglass Entertainment has acquired the rights to remake David Cronenberg's horror classic "The Brood." Cory Goodman has been tapped to pen the screenplay.
Based on a pitch by Goodman, the psychological/supernatural thriller centers on a woman who undergoes medical treatment that causes her inner rage to physically manifest itself.
Clark Peterson will produce alongside Spyglass' Roger Birnbaum, Gary Barber and Jonathan Glickman.
The original "Brood," released in 1979, was one of Cronenberg's earliest pics. The Canadian helmer, whose "Eastern Promises" is in theaters, is enjoying something of a renaissance. A remake of Cronenberg's 1981 film "Scanners" is also in development, with Darren Lynn Bousman attached to direct for Dimension Films.
Goodman's writing credits include "Priest," which is set up at Screen Gems, and "Kung Fu" at Warner Bros., with Legendary attached to produce. The scribe also worked on "Killer's Game" for Intermedia."

Fuck this.
I read about this and I had to simply ignore it for fear of going into an apoplectic rage and producing little misshapen dwarves of fury on my own that would march to Hollywood in their little snowsuits and take down everyone involved in this remake...
Wait, that's not a bad idea after all.
Lots and lots of swearing. But somehow, there probably should have more, right?
I swear, Satcie, they keep this up and one day soon there will be an army of murderous snowsuited dwarves tearing Hollywood to shreds. It'll be like the last half an hour of Gremlins, only wronger.
Yup JD, there could've been so much more vulgarity held here. It really should've had the feeling of swear words oozing out of the ports on your computer; that's what I wanted to get across.
This hurts me. A lot. I'm still angry about Halloween and now this. I bet they CG the kids. Make them crawl the walls or some stupid shit like that.
With each of these new remakes that's announced, I grow more and more resentful of Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead for preventing me from writing off the entire enterprise.
