Lizards Are So Hot Right Now

.

I meant to post on Mike White's wonderfully odd new project the other day - he's teaming up with the delightful Edgar Wright (now there's a dream-team!) on a script described by White at MTV thusly:

"Their new script, “Them,” is “a paranoid conspiracy movie/comedy... About who the secret rulers of the world.” And who are the secret rulers of the world? “They’re lizards!” enthused White."

It's all based, apparently, on the theories of David Icke, a British free-thinker who has theorized, apparently, that lizards-in-disguise rule the world. And, I mean, duh.

Anyway, then I read today at AICN that rumors surrounding a reboot of the V series are batting around again... a series in which an alien race of lizards-in-disguise take over the planet.

I smell a hot topic!

And this all brings back memories of the talk about Michael Cunningham adapting the third act of his book Specimen Days for the screen to star Julianne Moore and a giant lizard woman in the future. Naturally. Haven't heard anything about that one for ages, though.

I blame the Geico Gecko. And, by association, those damned Cavemen.
