My insides sqeualed with glee when I saw this gallery of the first stills (and the poster, as seen above) from George Romero's next zombie flick, Diary of the Dead, over at Bloody Disgusting. They've got a bunch; here's a selection:
Not a whole heckuva lot to see so far - except Romero's hired some cute unknowns and there's a zombie that looks like Freddy Kreuger if you looks really quickly at him - but that pic of Romero with his "directing hands" out feeds a deep need within my geek's heart, so that's nice.

See...the fact that they're all model looking doesn't make me as excited. Part of the genius of his original movies (whether for budgetary or creative reason) was that none of the actors were too pretty or too movie star. They were every man. If that makes any sense....
I guess no matter how many zombies there are in the world there will always be six or seven humans who can join together and form a ragtag group of renegade soldiers.
Yawn.
I hated Land of the Dead so I'm not looking forward to this at all. He needs to movie on, seriously. It's getting ridiculous.
