Bloody Disgusting has a couple news items that grabbed my attention...

--- A director has been chosen for the sequel to Neil Marshall's fantastic The Descent (which I refuse to type as The De2cent! Refuse! Except I just did!) - his (it's always a "his" ain't it?) name is Jon Harris. This will be his directorial debut; he's been the editor for a bunch of films, including the original Descent, Snatch, Stardust, and Layer Cake. Alas, Marshall is only producing. No other info yet.
--- They've got a gallery of stills from An American Crime, the movie based on the true-story behind Jack Ketchum's book The Girl Next Door (which is also being made into a movie), and stars Catherine Keener and Ellen Page. Here are a couple -

ELLENPAGEISAGODDESS. Yup.
Though I love her I could see Keener turning into this kind of beast if her life had taken a different turn.
I could also see Lyla from Angel doing this, though I guess that would be the Lifetime version since she doesn't seem to be anywhere. Where is Lyla?
I'm trying to keep my expectations for The Descent sequel low. I loved the first one so much, but I'm afraid of what they're going to do with a follow-up. I wish Neil Marshall was writing and/or directing, I know that much. :(
And yes, it's always a "his", isn't it? :( again.
I'm also quite wary of a sequel to The Descent; thankfully, the first one is so good on its own that I can just pretend any subsequent installments never existed in the first place.
Like the first Bridget Jones movie. Correction: the *only* Bridget Jones movie.
