Satan help me, I actually
like the poster for
Saw IV (over at left, via
BD). I mean, I usually like their posters. Posters are one thing; their drecky movies are another. But I do, I think the poster's lovely - plus, Jigsaw's head makes me happy, because he's a sucky villain and it fulfills my wish they'd actually kill him - and if I didn't hate this franchise with everything inside of me I would hang something like this on my wall.
In related news, I have my copy of
Tim Palen's book Guts sitting at home (you'll remember, he's the man who's crafted all these posters and

advertising campaigns for the
Saw and
Hostel -
amongst other sick-oddities - films) and I don't know what to do with it. It's encased in plastic wrap as if it's a large cut of meat and it's really lovely to behold and... I can't bring myself to break the seal. I'm going to have to buy a second copy just so I can look at the book, I know it.

You like it because they've finally and completely taken Roth's example for their advertising.
Am I wrong?
Well I think they've been working, advertising-wise, on the same principals since they started. I still prefer what Hostel did - I LOVE that Hostel 2 poster that's a slab of meat - but it's been the same marketing teams working on both.
Though yes, the decapitated head thing is pretty reminiscent of Bijou's poster for H2.
Yessss! You like something Saw related. The day has finally come.
Oh and I finished those questions you sent me. They are up in my blog.
Thank you for adding me to your links, by the way.
I still don't understand how Saw 4 is gonna work....plus, Saw 3 was just not worth it.
