The New York Post did a list of the 100 Greatest Cover Songs earlier this week, and while they say their list in not in any specific order, I'm reading their decision to put Dolly Parton's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" at the top of their list as proof that it's the Greatest Cover of All Time. Yes! Dolly's "Stairway to Heaven" is amazing!
it is an incredible cover. I tell people I'm going to make them listen to stairway and they groan...until they hear that I'm playing this version. brilliant interpretation of a classic song.
