A very happy 40th birthday to Nicole Kidman, who escaped the diabolical clutches of former psychotic flames and went on to become impressively botoxed an actress to be reckoned with. I've already done my #1 favorite Kidman performance as a Today's Mood, so here's my second fave of hers (though that distinction was a toss-up between this one and Birth). And I'm entirely convinced - and will be severely disappointed if it turns out not so - that Kidman's performance as Mrs. Coulter in The Golden Compass, as well as the next two adaptations, that we'll see this Fall will rocket right to the front of my fave performances of hers, because she couldn't have been more right for the part, and I'm of the mind that she does her best work playing a bitch.

I cannot wait to see what she does in The Golden Compass, Margot at the Wedding, and, of course, Australia (insert drool smiley here, lol).
