Quote of the Day

I figure I might as well get one last Eli Roth post in before I throw myself out the airlock this afternoon - here he is in an interview at Cinematical, answering the question if he just might've been jealous of the publicity that the movie Captivity got for its controversial, and ultimately removed, billboards (the ones that depicted Elisha Cuthbert's methodical torture and death):

"Well ... I mean, everyone hates those guys. And word of mouth is that Captivity sucked. Why would I be jealous of that; I don't give a sh*t. I was pissed actually, because it makes it very difficult for the rest of us. They did not go before the MPAA with those posters. It really puts everyone on edge when that happens. And suddenly, who's the next one up? Oh, thanks, it's me. I'm not doing this for attention, I'm doing this to make good movies."

Like his movies are not....it's refreshing that he doesn't spend every hour of the day bitching about the MPAA. As much as I dislike them and their hypocricy, it can be grating to hear directors complain about it, especially when they try to use it to explain why their movie blew.
