I Am Wednesday's Link

--- So who should play Lion-O? Yes, a live-action Thundercats movie is apparently gonna be made. I'm personally holding out for the day that Elijah Wood plays Vanity Smurf.

--- Tooting the pervert's horn - Harry Knowles at AICN reviews Hostel: Part II - he ventures into spoiler-territory I wish I'd stopped myself from reading - but for those out there who scream that Roth's films are bringing civilization to the brink of oblivion, he says:

"GROW THE FUCK UP! There is nothing crossing the line here that you can’t point to something that an aficionado of horror couldn’t reference. Or that a student of history can’t point to."

As always, Knowles is the epitome of eloquence. Not that I necessarily disagree with the general sentiment...

--- A Very Funny Lady - could this deal be Anna Faris' Legally Blonde? She certainly deserves to be as big a star as Reese Witherspoon, if you ask me. From Cinematical:

"... Faris will star in an untitled college campus comedy for Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison.... in the pic, she'll play an ex-Playboy bunny who packs her bags and moves into the lamest sorority house on campus in an attempt to make this group of girl nerds more popular. I imagine it will be something like Ferris Bueller meets Revenge of the Nerds... except with females."

It's written by the same folks who wrote Legally Blonde (a movie I hated with far more passion then the film should've been worthy of) and Ella Enchanted (a movie I actually really enjoyed).

--- See there ---> it's the (yeah, kinda boring) poster for Charlie Kaufman's highly-anticipated first outing as director, a film called Synecdoche, New York, at FilmIck.

There are also the posters for the Coen's No Country For Old Men and Gus Van Sant's latest, Paranoid Park at that link.

I actually quite like that poster. Except for the "Phillip Seymour Hoffman" thing at the top. Why is that there? *ignores the fact that he's in the movie*

I am for Eric bana as Liono, though he would need a chin implant. Eric Bana+ the sword of erection, must be right.

sees Synecdoche poster and dies of excitement

Seriously, if you read the basic plot of it, the poster makes sense.

Yeah, I know the plot and get that it makes sense with regards to the plot. I just don't really like its design, it bores me. Not that I'm not dying to see the movie still, because Kaufman's a god to me, and will remain that way for life; Eternal Sunshine gives him a free pass forever and ever.
