"E! Online says ABC seems to be getting ready to announce these things:
* "Lost" will end in 2009.
* Following the “game-changing” May 23 season finale, there will be a seven-month hiatus before new episodes return in 2008.
* The series will be moving to an earlier timeslot.
Don’t be surprised if all of this is revealed at ABC’s upfront presentation on May 15.

The show needs to prove that it knows where it's going and that it's got an end in sight, otherwise it's just gonna continue bleeding viewers. This is the way to do it, and if this proves successful maybe we'll see more of this and less examples like the sad final couple years of The X-Files. Awesome news, if true.

sweet....we can avoid extra seasons where Jack is abducted by aliens, Kate is impregnated by them, and Nikki and Paolo become the main characters!
And I gotta agree about this week.
pfft, who cares about Lost? I wanna know what you thought about Spider-Man 3. I thought it was terrible. I'm happy to know I am nowhere near being alone on that feeling though.
Also, so happy to see you gave Lantana an A- and Jindabyne a B+. And then even happier to see you didn't like one of my bottom 5 movies of all time - that would be Straw Dogs.
Yeah, I was really confused by my reaction to Straw Dogs. It's actually the first Peckinpah movie I've seen (somehow it beat the others to the top of my queue) and I found myself admiring it for some of its technical aspects whilst just being totally repulsed by its ridiculous misogyny to the point where I couldn't appreciate anything else that might've been interesting that was going on. I don't know that I've ever seen a more hateful representation of women than Peckinpah managed with that wife character.
I'll write more on Spider-Man tomorrow when I'm blogging for reals, but I'll just say I saw its shoddy script and its woeful editing for all they were, but I still mostly enjoyed myself. I didn't hate it, and I think a large part of that is I was expecting those problems going in from reviews and I have way too much goodwill built up for Raimi and his cast from the last film so I just couldn't make myself angry after it. My main thought after finishing the film was - man, Sam Raimi is REALLY tired, I hope he takes a good long break now.
