.... should I go see this weekend? The boyfriend's outta town and I'll surely spend a good chunk of my "alone time" catching up on DVDs that've been gathering dust besides the TV but, in an attempt at "getting out of the house" I figure I should go see something in the theater as well.
Yes, "getting out the house" apparently has turned into, for me, sitting in a dark theater and not enjoying the supposed-to-be-pleasant Spring weather.
But we can mourn for my social skills later. Right now, what do you think I should see? It has to be something the boyfriend probably wouldn't mind me seeing without him. I've kinda narrowed it down to a couple of choices:
Vacancy was directed by Nimród Antal, who directed Kontroll
Then there's "newly-minted Superstar" Shia LaBeouf's Disturbia, which also looks like it could hold some B-movie-ish, Rear Window rip-off thrills.
I'm not anticipating either of these films to sear my eyelids off with excitement. But has anyone seen either? Opinions? Other suggestions? I am open. This being NYC, there's probably some actual good movie out there I could see as well, if y'all were so inclined to admonish me for my lowbrow standards.

I know what you should see. You should see my #1 film of 2006, that's what.
I know I should see it... and I knew you'd glare! I'll try. I can't promise my mood swings won't dictate I see something terribly dumb, though. I feel Summer-Movie-Syndrome coming on. I can't help it! I'm American! ;-)
Luke Wilson...officially the hotter Wilson brother
MUCh hotter. Though Owen did write all those Wes Anderson movies, which is a huge plus in his column.
I actually wanna see both, and I don't know why, but Disturbia looks much better.
Disturbia is actually pretty decent, but it is ridiculously stupid. Those characters are really fuckin' dumb. Like, yell at the screen stupid. "Don't go in there ALONE! Don't open that door, the killer's there!!"
And Vacancy actually looked decent too.
But... yeah... *glares*
Well Glenn, I just started watching Lantana, which I've yet to see, about five minutes ago (and I'll be turning the computer off to return to doing so in a sec), so perhaps I'll make it a Ray Lawrence weekend in your honor!
