Trick 'r Treat

Haven't said anything on this one yet, but it's not been for a lack of interest, just substantial news, but we're side-stepping that now, cuz here's the teaser poster for Trick 'r Treat (via BD):

TrT is the first feature from Michael Dougherty, the talented writer of popcorn-fare such as the first two X-Men movies and Superman Returns (okay, Supes coulda used a rewrite), as well scripts for I, Lucifer (in which Daniel Craig plays the Devil) and the maybe-it-will-happen-someday remake of Logan's Run.

I, Lucifer, as an aside, is being directed by Dan Harris, who was Dougherty's co-writer on the script (an adaptation of a book I've had sitting on my bookshelf for a couple years now and not read yet - supposedly the Devil takes a month off to be human or something) for this as well as for the X-Men and Superman films, and previously directed the pretty decent Imaginary Heroes starring Emile Hirsch and wonderful, wonderful Sigourney Weaver.

But back to TrT - ever since I read the script described thusly -

"... [it] interweaves four tales of chaos and malevolence and has been loosely described as “Pulp Fiction” set on Halloween night."

- I have been immensely interested, since it sounds like a NEW ('magine that!) idea filtering its way into a horror movie, and that is something that really cannot be undervalued.

And then the cast shaped up (with some X-Men alums) to include, among others, Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Dylan Baker, and Tahmoh "Helo" Penikett from Battlestar Galactica and well, I's be very enthused over this one's possibilities.

So do prepare yourselves to hear more on this one as it hurls down the turnpike. It's out October 5th.

I, Lucifer was a good book, although I didn't completely finish it. The Devil apparently comes to be human, but in a not so attractive body of a looser (Daniel Craig???) and write a movie script. HA!
Interesting choice for a movie I must say.

Helo.....ummmmmm
