I Am 300 Links

Today in Spartan news...

--- I don't routinely care much about box office receipts - I haven't really covered them since going a little bit psycho about Brokeback Mountain's daily tally, actually - but mentioning how well 300 did over the weekend seems appropriate, since it's arguably the gayest mainstream movie since Brokeback, right? Anyway, 300 did hella well, which makes me happy because it's a terrific popcorn flick and it means only good things for Watchmen happening now... right?

--- Nathaniel asks - Does this mean we've got more dude-ity headed our way? If only that were the lesson learned here, Nat; if only!

--- King Leonidas his bad self is caught with his pants down checking himself out in 300 over the weekend. Gerard, why couldn't you have sat beside me?

--- I'm with Sean - heaping bullshit political motivations or subtext onto 300 is straight-up 'tarded.

And in non-slow-mo-and-screamed news...

--- Rob Zombie denies rumors that were circulating last week that he would not be using the Halloween music from the original film for his remake. I couldn't care less what he does really; I'm getting even less interested in his take by the day, and I didn't think that was possible since I was never looking forward to this happening in the first place. Why doesn't he just crawl in my window at night and skull-fuck all my good memories away? It'd cost a lot less.

--- Man I wanna see this! A new review of Them (released in France as Ils) is up over AICN, once again heralding it as a non-stop nail-bite-a-thon. I previously spoke of them film right on here. It still has no release date listed for here.
